I am lucky to be able to make time to spend three days at BETT this year. Having stayed away from the show last year, this year I am really looking forward to catching up with the latest technology, but more importantly catching up with the latest thinking by meeting up with as many people as possible.

My plans are below, so please come and catch me if you are there, or tweet me @oliverquinlan if you would like to meet up.

Weds

Presentation on Google stand (stand E70) 12:45 - 13:00

'Watching children's interests fly with Google sites'

Showcasing the work of Primary children on independent website creation as part of child led curriculum time.

Thursday

Collaborate for change (Apex Room) 18:00 - 21:00 [Tickets here]

'Great teaching; how does it scale?'

In our schools there are some exceptional teachers. They inspire their pupils, accelerate achievement and run transformative initiatives. Then they leave, and the school looses most of what was great.

This is a brainstorm session to work out what it is about great teachers that makes them great, and how we might make this scale across the profession.

'Rise up against therapeutic education'

I will also be joining my colleague Peter Yeomans running this table discussion based on his blog post here.

Friday

'TeachMeet BETT' (Apex Room) 18:00 - 22:00

Random generator permitting, I will be talking about how we have been creating 'Connected Educators' and Plymouth University, using social media to induct students into the profession from day 1.

Some of my students have also signed up to present, and I am looking forward to hearing what they have to say, as well as the other great presentations on the bill.
